Claude Desktop
Connect Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop connects to remote MCP servers as a custom connector. Monad's is a hosted HTTP endpoint, so there is nothing to install locally.
New to Monad's MCP server? Start with the MCP overview for what it is, what an assistant can do, and how permissions work.
Prerequisites
- Claude Desktop installed
- A Monad account belonging to at least one organization
- MCP access enabled for your user — see Access
1. Add the connector
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose to add a custom connector.
- Enter the Monad MCP server URL:
Code
2. Authorize
Claude Desktop opens your browser to Monad's consent screen, showing which client is asking, your account, the permissions requested, and the organizations you can grant.
Approve it, and the connector becomes available in your conversations.
3. Verify
Start a conversation and ask for something read-only:
List my Monad pipelines
If it returns your pipelines, the connection is live.
Next: Using It
You are connected. For what the assistant can do, example requests, and the habits that get good results, see Using the MCP.
Managing the Connection
To disconnect, revoke the client under Settings → Connected Applications in the Monad UI — that takes effect immediately — and remove the connector in Claude Desktop's settings.
Troubleshooting
The connector is added but no Monad tools appear. Authorization did not complete. Remove and re-add the connector, and make sure the browser tab finishes and returns.
The browser opens but the consent screen cannot identify you.
Sign in to https://app.monad.com once in the same browser, then retry.
