Claude Code
Connect Claude Code
Claude Code is Anthropic's CLI. Connecting it to Monad takes one command and a browser approval.
New to Monad's MCP server? Start with the MCP overview for what it is, what an assistant can do, and how permissions work.
Prerequisites
- Claude Code installed
- A Monad account belonging to at least one organization
- MCP access enabled for your user — see Access
1. Add the server
Code
--scope user makes the connection available in every project on your machine. Use --scope project instead to share it with a repository's collaborators through a checked-in config file.
2. Authenticate
Start Claude Code and run:
Code
Select monad, then Authenticate. Your browser opens Monad's consent screen, showing which client is asking, your account, the permissions requested, and the organizations you can grant.
Approve it, and the browser hands control back to Claude Code.
3. Verify
Ask for something read-only:
Code
If it returns your pipelines, the connection is live.
Next: Using It
You are connected. For what the assistant can do, example requests, and the habits that get good results, see Using the MCP.
Managing the Connection
Check status at any time:
Code
To disconnect, revoke the client under Settings → Connected Applications in the Monad UI. That takes effect immediately. To remove it locally as well:

Troubleshooting
/mcp does not list monad.
The server was added to a different scope. Re-run the add command with --scope user, or check claude mcp list.
Authentication opens the browser but nothing happens.
Make sure you are signed in to https://app.monad.com in that same browser, then retry.
For anything not specific to Claude Code — refused requests, missing organizations, writes being denied — see Troubleshooting on the overview page.
